Enactus Championships 

Enactus Singapore National Competition 2017 was held at DBS Asia Central Auditorium on 17 June. Participating institutions include National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) and Singapore Polytechnic (SP). Enactus NUS emerged as our National Champion and will be representing Singapore at the Enactus World Cup in London, United Kingdom in September 2017. Enactus NUS also carried home the Learning Award for Overture. Other outstanding awardees included:

1. Temasek Polytechnic — Learning Award for Project Addiction
2. Singapore Polytechnic — Spirit of Enactus Award; and
3. Mr Ho Thiam Aik of Singapore Polytechnic — Faculty Advisor of the Year Award.

pre-Accelerator Programme


The Enactus Accelerator guides the students through a process similar to a business start-up to help teams build a desirable, feasible and viable business model to improve the livelihood of the target beneficiary in a sustainable manner.

 

Stage 1: Identify a root problem faced by target beneficiaries  

Stage 2: Brainstorm and decide on solutions

Stage 3: Test and refine solution through research, analysis and prototyping

 

Fun and interactive workshops (1 workshop per stage).

Checkpoints to check student learning and pace project progress (mentor assessment and final demo day for pitching ideas).

Common meetings with students from other schools to get to know one another and share ideas on projects (once throughout the entire cycle).

Mentorship by working professionals to provide guidance and help (weekly check-ins with mentors).

Enactus Business Lunch

The Enactus Business Lunch series brings together existing and potential sponsors, Enactus students and other friends of Enactus for an enlightening sharing session by distinguished leaders from the public, private and non-government sectors on their professional and leadership experiences. The inaugural session in 2014 featured Mr Desmond Kuek, President and CEO of SMRT Corporation Limited. In 2015, the event was graced by Mr Koh Boon Hwee, Chairman of Yeo Hiap Seng and Chairman of Far East Orchard.

This year, a panel chaired by Mr Till Vestring, Partner, Bain & Company South-East Asia, with our panelists Tjin Lee, Karen Leong and Eugene Soh, discussed the changing definition of work and employment in today's world.
